Their First Amendment Freedoms

Take the First Freedom Challenge and
Help Bring Back Public Expressions of Faith

Restore Faith in our communities

As a result of the Kennedy decision at the Supreme Court, cities all over the country can once again display monuments like the 10 Commandments and religious symbols like Crosses, Nativities and Menorahs.

Throughout December, we’re challenging people of faith from coast-to-coast to post pictures on their social media of Nativity Scenes  and Menorahs that are publicly displayed.

And when you post, be sure to tag First Liberty by using the hashtags #FirstFreedomChallenge, #RestoringFaithInAmerica and #FirstLiberty

Here’s how YOU can restore faith where you live:

  • A football player can ask teammates plus opposing players to pray together on the field after a game (and ask coaches to join as well).
  • You can ask your school board to open the meetings with a prayer.
  • You can ask your city to put up a menorah for Hanukkah and a nativity scene for Christmas.
  • Your government entity (city, state, county) can put up a 10 Commandments monument on government land.
  • A teacher can put up a 10 Commandments poster in their classroom.
  • Faith-based organizations like Teen Challenge can receive government funding and fully participate in programs (such as drug rehab) without discrimination.
  • Inform your church or local religious organization that they cannot be excluded from government grants or benefits programs (for homelessness, drug rehab, food banks, etc.) simply because they are faith-based.

Create Your Plan

All Americans have an opportunity to restore faith in America. However, different restoration methods will have greater success in different communities. Please email RFIA@firstliberty.org for assistance in creating your plan to restore faith in your community or to receive advice on the best way to implement the ideas in this brochure.

Take the First Freedom Challenge

This December, thousands of people of faith will be taking the First Freedom Challenge by posting pictures of publicly displayed Nativity Scenes and Menorahs.

Thanks to the Kennedy decision at the Supreme Court, local, state and event the federal government can once again display monuments like the 10 Commandments and religious symbols like Crosses, Nativities and Menorahs.

In addition, we’re challenging people of faith from coast-to-coast to make this holiday season a season of prayer.

But for that to happen, we need your help to spread the word and to let people know that we can now restore faith in our communities.

Here’s How You Can Help:

RIGHTING PAST WRONGS
ACROSS OUR NATION

Rescuing Our Freedom of Religion
From Suppression

MORE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM THAN EVER BEFORE

From the military, to our children’s schools, houses of worship, charities, businesses and the marketplace, our local veterans’ memorials and our neighborhoods, Americans have more religious freedom than they’ve had in 50 years. How is this possible? It’s thanks to three historic and precedent-setting triumphs at the nation’s highest court:
Restoring Faith in America

The Comeback Coach

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark 6-3 decision in favor of Coach Joe Kennedy, who was fired for praying on the 50-yard line. It upheld his right to take a knee in quiet, solitary prayer after games and has a nationwide impact on public-school teachers, employees and coaches.

Treat Children Fairly

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of students’ rights in Carson v. Makin. It affirmed that states cannot discriminate in student-aid programs against parents who want to send their children to religious schools. This case gives American’s more control over how they educate their children and live out their faith.

The Bladensburg Peace Cross

In a landmark 7-2 victory, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Bladensburg Peace Cross, preventing its destruction. No longer can offended observers force governments to scrub all public references to the divine.

Putting Religious Displays Back Where They Belong

Religious freedom is thriving—and nowhere is this clearer than in the opportunity for the restoration and rebuilding of monuments, memorials and religious displays that were once taken down.

A School Year with More Religious Freedom than Ever Before
